SUMMARY

The presenter, Tim Urban, shares procrastination experiences and how he would try to maintain a study schedule that would not be effective for his procrastination flaws.

What did I learn?

The common thread of how I am the monkey in this Tedtalk presentation. This helped me understand how to address my problem with procrastination. I know I would think I would have plenty of time to achieve a rational schedule. Then here comes the beginning of a workweek coinciding with a school study schedule. The problems begin when I underestimate my physical ability and mental ability. So what happens is when I see that my deadlines are right now. I am pushed even more to be determined to try harder. This pattern is unhealthy, and for me, and know-how this is not uncommon. I feel like this push should be asserted at the beginning of a project and is not where I am. I noticed how easy this habit can be re-opened faster than ever.

What did I like best?

I like how Tim Urban would present the flaw of procrastination as an everyday habit and feel secure that I have these same problems with deadlines. This shows an understanding of this character flaw, and the tone was giving an empathetic approach to our procrastination. Not a condemning system.

Why should others watch this?

When I saw the title, I felt defeated, and this would continue in my habits when Tim Urban mentions that procrastination does contribute to unhealthiness for our minds and attitudes. This was affirming that I was not alone. I felt a relief of insecurity. Once I was aware of how to address this procrastination flaw, I could really admit working earnestly to improve this terrible habit.
